- Certified Bartender. Masters in Education-Counseling and a degree in law. Mixed my first cocktail for my father at age ten. I have rafted through the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and walked the Loch Ness Marathon. The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge will always be with me, I can still hear the river and the wind and the uninterrupted song of the Common Redpoll. Silence except for nature's songs. Memories of a lifetime. I shall see the landscape for the rest of my life. Everyone should be so very fortunate as I to fulfill a passionate dream as was this adventure. It embraced all that I am and ever will be. I shall always be grateful to Dr. Albert Schweitzer whose biography as a child forced me to struggle with his philosophy of "reverence for life," and thus taught me to embrace and honor all living beings no matter how small or seemingly insignificant. And, to my Mother whose love of "The Songs of Hiawatha" introduced me to native Americans' land ethic. Both of these lessons are now my heart and soul. Life's blessings shall always be the song of a bird, the wing of a butterfly, the rustling of leaves, the whisper of a gentle wind, and the dampness of a light rain.
